COLLET

COLLET:

A mechanical part used to connect two shafts (drive shaft and driven shaft) in different mechanisms so that they rotate together to transfer torque. In the high speed and heavy load power transmission, some collet also has the function of buffering, damping and improving the dynamic performance of shafting.

 

COLLET STRUCTURE:

The collet is composed of two halves, which are connected with the driving shaft and the driven shaft respectively. The general power machine is connected with the working machine mostly by means of the coupling, which is the most common connecting part of the shaft transmission of mechanical products. The late 20th century at home and abroad rose set of products developed very fast, in product design how to choose from a variety of different performance of the various collet set to meet the requirements of the machine, for most designers, is always a troubled problem.

 

Common COLLET ADVANTAGES:

(a) the use of collet to make the host parts manufacturing and installation simple. The machining of shafts and holes for the mounting of rising sleeves does not require the same high precision manufacturing tolerances as interference fit. There is no need to heat, cool or pressure the equipment during the installation of the rising sleeve, just tighten the bolts according to the required torque. And easy to adjust, you can easily adjust the hub to the desired position on the shaft. The sleeve can also be used to join poorly weldable parts.

(b) the service life of the set is long.

(c) collet in overload, will lose the coupling effect, can protect the equipment from damage.

(d) The collet can bear multiple loads, and its structure can be made into a variety of styles. According to the installation load, it can also be used in series.

(e) The collet is easy to disassemble, so that the connected parts can be easily disassembled. When the sleeve rises, the contact surface is close and not easy to rust, but also easy to disassemble.
